There are two main ways to get your hands on this delicacy: using the Wolf Link Amiibo and hunting animals:

  • The Wolf Link Amiibo is your secret weapon in the game. Tap it on your console to get a stack of meat. You’ll usually get around ten essential meats and one or two Prime Meats. If you’re lucky, you could score some Gourmet Meat. But remember, you can only use an Amiibo one time a day, so make sure to use it wisely.
  • You can also get the Raw Gourmet Meat by hunting. And when it comes to taking down creatures, there’s no better place than the Hebra region. There are different animals in this cold forest ready to be slaughtered. But be warned; the Hebra region has harsh weather and is filled with deadly creatures.

The Hebra region is bone-chillingly cold and one could even lose feeling in their toes. To avoid ending up as a frozen statue of a Hylian, you’ll require some warm clothing and food. There are many alternatives to choose from. You can put on some warm clothes or carry hot foods or potions to ward off the chill. Moreover, you’ll also be watching for wild beasts or animals, which attack instantly when they catch sight of you. So, consider donning stealth gear or churning up some elixir.

How to Hunt the Animals for Gourmet Meat

First, be selective in your target selection. The Hebra territory is home to many types of animals. However, not every one of them delivers Raw Gourmet Meat. Concentrate on the larger predators, including wolves, bears, and moose. When you kill one of them, they’re more likely to leave valuable loot, including your desired meat item.

When you’re engaged in real hunts for these animals, subtlety is important. It’s not wise to rush in on your prey and scare them away. Alternatively, you must approach stealthily and shoot them with a well-shot arrow. Don’t rush; remember that a strike to the head usually results in instant death.

For another way, try attaching a plain Keese Eyeball to your arrow. It’s a guaranteed headshot and will take down most creatures in one hit. Just make sure it is a regular Keese Eyeball and not an elemental one because you will receive Grilled or Frozen Meat instead of Raw Gourmet Meat in this case.

Cooking Dishes with Gourmet Meat

The goal of cooking in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is to prepare meals that boost your stamina, improve your skills, and make you more resilient under dangerous conditions. Also, Gourmet Meat is the special ingredient that will take your cuisine from average to spectacular. Cooking is also a way to pocket some extra Rupees. Dishes cooked with Gourmet Meat can be sold for a tidy sum, so don’t hesitate to get creative in the kitchen.

You can sell these dishes to any store or roaming merchant. If you make a Meat Skewer using five pieces of Gourmet Meat, you can sell it for 315 Rupees, which is quite a lot of money. Therefore, preparing and selling Gourmet Meat dishes is best if you are short on funds or want to earn money quickly.
