Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 has brought back Medallions, and if you’re looking to get one (or both), this guide has got you covered. These power-ups can level up your gameplay, but carrying a Medallion makes you a walking target. So, if you’re ready to risk it for the ultimate reward, here’s everything you need to know about Fortnite’s Medallions this season—where to find them, how to get them, and what they actually do.
How Medallions Work in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2
Medallions are special boss drops that give you amazing buffs. Unlike regular loot, they don’t consume inventory space but instead, they sit in their own slot. The downside? If you’re carrying one, your location is marked with a gold circle on the map, and the more Medallions you have, the smaller and more precise that circle gets. In other words, you’re telling the whole lobby, “Hey, come fight me!”
Currently, there are two Medallions available to grab:
- Unstoppable Medallion – Increases sprint speed and allows you to attack enemies while sprinting.
- Super Shield Medallion – Automatically places a Shield Bubble Jr. when using healing items such as Med Kits or Shield Potions.
These Medallions in Fortnite are only obtainable by taking down specific NPC bosses and they won’t go down without a fight.
How to Get the Unstoppable Medallion in Fortnite
The Unstoppable Medallion is dropped by Fletcher Kane, a crime boss who loves to switch up his hideouts. He spawns in a random vault each match, but there’s an easy way to track him down. Look for a vault on the map that has a wolf icon next to it, that’s your target. These vaults can appear in multiple locations, including:
- Masked Meadows
- Crime City
- Lonewolf Lair
- Seaport City
- Armored Train
Fletcher Kane’s vault is locked, and to break the door with a wolf icon for the fight, you will need thermite. You can loot thermite from chests or loot boxes scattered around the map. Once the vault opens, Kane’s minions will come at you. They are not tough thanks to their poor aim, but annoying. So, take them out and fight Fletcher Kane.
The boss can give you a little hard time, but nothing too crazy. He restores his shield often, so keep pressure on him. A good shotgun or assault rifle will do the trick. After beating Kane, you’ll get Unstoppable Medallion and Double Down Pistol – a mythic-tier pistol with good damage output. Other players will be hunting for this Medallion too. Be prepared for a fight once you open the vault.
How to Get the Super Shield Medallion in Fortnite
The Super Shield Medallion is dropped by Shogun X, a demon warrior who doesn’t mess around. Unlike Fletcher Kane, he doesn’t spawn at the start of the match—you’ll have to wait for his floating island to appear. Shogun X’s arena spawns in the sky during the fourth storm circle in every match. The exact location is random, but it will always be inside the safe zone. Once the island appears, you’ll see a red rift tear in the sky.
Enter the airlift to get launched into the sky and land on the floating island. Prepare for a hard battle as Shogun X is no joke. He has a massive health bar and uses several powerful attacks including Fire Oni Heads which are slow but deadly projectiles. Further, he teleports all over the arena very fast so keep your eagle eyes open in this combat.
His sword attacks hit like a truck if you get too close, so keep your distance to avoid getting hurt and strike him with long-range weapons like sniper rifles or assault rifles. Once defeated, you’ll receive a Super Shield Medallion, Enhance Holo Twister Assault Rifle, Pistol, and Shogun X’s Fire Oni Mask – a special cosmetic/combat item. The biggest danger here is the other players. Since the floating island appears late in the game, expect a fight from others trying to grab the Fortnite Medallion.
