Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Playlist Update & Tribute Event Drop April 17

New Multiplayer modes, Zombies tweaks, and 17 rewards await during the Black Ops Tribute Event.

Treyarch is turning up the heat in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 with a new playlist update and a limited-time event, coming on April 17. The devs are mixing things up across Multiplayer and Zombies by introducing many rewards with the Black Ops Tribute Event, which honors the franchise’s legacy.

Multiplayer gets some love with three standout additions, including 10v10 Search and Destroy, which is bound to be chaotic in the best way possible. More players mean more action, more flanks, and more clutch or choke moments—exactly what you want from a good S&D match. Then there’s 6v6 Gunfight, which is Gunfight but with a full team setup. Demolition is also returning, which is a personal favorite—classic objective gameplay that rewards both coordination and pressure. These modes will change how we play the game week-to-week in public lobbies.

Season 03’s just getting started. New tomorrow in #BlackOps6:

In BO6 Zombies, Team Cranked is introduced, and anyone who has played Cranked before knows it turns the pace way up. On top of that, Treyarch is adding a double Gobblegum earn rate, which is very helpful, especially after the bugs we’ve had. Speaking of which, they pushed a hotfix on April 16 that finally fixed the annoying glitch where Gobblegums would disappear when returning to a saved game. The devs have also patched a few exploits on the Dealership map, closing off a broken Commissary spot players were abusing.

Regarding the Black Ops Tribute Event, starting from April 17 to May 1, you can earn up to 17 rewards just by grinding XP across any game mode. The rewards lineup includes everything from emblems and cosmetics to a new weapon, perk, and scorestreak. And the event includes the return of John Black Ops as a playable skin – a massive nostalgia hit. Even better, if you own Black Ops 6 (not only playing Warzone), you’ll unlock extra exclusive items you won’t find anywhere else. It’s the kind of mid-season update that gives the game new life without needing a full season refresh.

We’re not even halfway through BO6’s cycle, and there is already some air about Black Ops 7. According to the leaks, it’s set in 2035 with Alex Mason from Black Ops 2 back in the spotlight. Even more exciting is the claimed return of omnidirectional movement and wall-running features.
