If you don’t know where to find the missing sword or how to arrange them in the right order, our guide explains how to solve the sword puzzle in Resident Evil 4 Remake and continue your journey through the game.
How to Solve the Resident Evil 4 Remake Sword Puzzle
You have to match each knight with the appropriate sword to tell a story. To get the Bloodied Sword, open the locked gate to the left of the puzzle wall. The lock has three animal symbols:
- Eagle
- Stag
- Snake
Look around the room, and you’ll notice matching emblems on hanging gongs. To activate them, pull the chain on the left side to ring the stag gong. You’ll notice the corresponding symbol lights up on the gate. Shoot the eagle and snake gongs on the right side of the gate. As they’re out of reach, you can’t pull chains for these—just aim and fire. Once all three symbols glow up, the gate will unlock. Inside, go and pick the Bloodied Sword from there and return to the relief wall.
Will the fourth sword obtained as well, it’s time to place all of them in the correct order. The reliefs on the wall hint at events sequence in a knight’s life, and your task is to match the swords to these events:
- First relief (Knight standing at attention) – Iron Sword
- Second relief (Knight being knighted by a king) – Golden Sword
- Third relief (Knight in battle, slaying an enemy) – Bloodied Sword
- Fourth relief (Knight’s grave) – Rusted Sword
Once all the swords are placed correctly, the iron gate will open, and you can proceed to the Audience Chamber.
