Baldur’s Gate 3: What Happens If You Kill Kagha in BG3?

Things will be messy, choose the way you like to deal with her.

Out of the many complex choices you have to make in your whole Baldur’s Gate 3 journey, one of the earliest happens in Act 1 not long after starting the game’s storyline. The situation occurs when you visit the Emerald Grove involving Kagha, the Druid leader. Just after you enter Druid Grove with your initial party members, you will find yourself in a high-intense fight between the leader and Tieflings.

Kagha is the kind of character that stirs up many negative strong opinions that even her Druids guys don’t like her character. Between her hardline stance on getting rid of the Tieflings in order to take over Grove and her willingness to go to extreme lengths to sacrifice innocent kids such as Arabella, you might want to kill her when presented with the opportunity at Zevlor’s request.

But should you kill Kagha in BG3? It’s not so simple, and there are a couple of ways to eliminate her (not a good character to care about) but each choice has its consequences with one way very complex while the other is not so easy and quick. So, here’s what happens if you decide to kill Kagha in Baldur’s Gate 3 and must you do that.

What Happens If You Kill Kagha Before Investigating Her in BG3?

Baldur's Gate 3 Choice Kill Kagha Before Investigating Her

As we already mentioned, you have two options to choose when dealing with Kagha: kill before investigating her or kill her after doing the investigation. It depends on when and how you decide to murder her, things will be different or can get pretty wild.

You will have the first chance of killing during the initial encounter with Kagha when you have to try hard to Save Arabella in this child’s quest. You can take her down but there will be chaos in the Grove. The second you land the final blow, the entire place turns into a battlefield. All the Druids, furious about Kagha’s death, immediately attack the Tieflings, and you will have no other way left than to kill them all. But all Druids will be killed and you will lose the chance of their later support.

You need to be quick on your feet to manage the fallout to not even get all Tielflings defeated and leave with the empty hands from Emerald Grove. After killing Kagha, you can hightail it out of the Grove through the Stone Door and go help the battling Tieflings above using stairs. Once managed to kill all Druids, Zevlor will be grateful, you can complete the Save the Refugees quest to keep progressing in the game.

If you waste time after killing the leader, the Druids will take control of the whole Grove by sealing the area and closing the door, leaving no escape for Tieflings to leave the place, and with that, the refugees’ rescue quest will fail. However, if there are other active side quests related to the Emerald Grove, they will automatically end without any rewards. That way, you will lose both parties and many related quests in the Druid Grove. Looking at this whole scenario, I think you now understand how chaotic this way is dealing with Kagha.

What Happens If You Kill Kagha After the Investigation in BG3?

Baldur's Gate 3 Choice to Kill Kagha After Investigation Her in BG3

The recommended way to deal with Kagha is first to investigate her. After your initial meeting with Kagha, you must complete the Investigate Kagha quest. You can dig into her shady dealings by visiting her office to find the details about the ritual The Rite of Thorns which she is willing to perform. The following objective will bring you to the place of the secret letter and by reading it, you’ll discover the collaboration of Kagha with the Shadow Druids and what strange plans she has decided to execute that include dealing with Halsin.

After finishing the investigation quest and with this letter, you can confront Kagha and call her out on her betrayal. At this point, the stakes are much higher for her, and you have the right to kill by exposing her in front of all Grove company. So even if you take her down for now, there will be no tension between Druids and Tieflings, so no big messy battle to worry about. Zevlor and the Tieflings will be relieved by her execution, and you’ll even receive the Broodmother’s Revenge amulet, which can give an extra 1d6 Poison damage to the wearer after his/her healing.

You can continue completing the necessary quest in the Grove such as main Save the Refugees and others before leaving for the Blighted Village. This is the right way where you get the best of both worlds. Kagha is killed as intended, you have received the support of the whole Tieflings community, and it lets you move forward in the story without leaving a trail of bodies behind. Further, you’ll avoid unnecessary conflict with the Druids, keeping both important alliances intact.

Should You Kill Kagha in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Should You Kill Kagha in BG3 or Not?

The short answer is yes, you should kill Kagha in BG3 because there is no reason why you should not kill such an annoying character and secondly, there is no benefit to sparing her but only a good reward from her corpse. But the question is when you should fight her?

For a better way, you should first investigate Kagha before killing her. If you like to take on more different quests and interact with more characters, particularly with Halsin, investigate her first and take action in the later part. By holding off, you’ll not only get more out of the story but also avoid bad consequences like losing Druids or maybe even Tieflings during the tough combat.

But even if you decide to spare Kagha, her fate isn’t necessarily sealed. If you fail to save Arabella and Kagha kills this Tiefling child, she will still be dead at the hands of Arabella’s parent later on. Arabella’s mother will poison her and when you meet the parents, she will decide to stab Kagha to finish her. Although you don’t need to do it, but you can use a Persuasion check to convince Komari not to do that. Given that you still get the Broodmother’s Revenge if Kagha dies, do it by yourself or let the parents do the dirty work of killing her.
