In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, there are new weapons that can help turn battles in your favor. Most notably, the Bloodfiend’s Arm will separate itself from the group as a massive weapon that not only hits hard but is also designed to bleed out enemies. If you’re trying to min-max a bleed build or simply love weapons that can blast bosses, you’ll want Bloodfiend’s Arm in your arsenal. This guide walks you through how you can obtain this powerful weapon and why it is worth going for.
Where to Find the Bloodfiend’s Arm in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
Bloodfiend’s Arm is one of the items dropped by some new enemies known as Bloodfiends in the new Shadow of Erdtree areas. One of the earliest and easiest locations that have these enemies in a good number is Prospect Town, which you can get to fairly soon after starting the DLC.
Start at Main Gate Cross Site of Grace in Gravesite Plain to go towards Prospect Town. Travel south along the mountain walls, but don’t break into the stone gate. Instead, search for a jagged rock path heading into the mountains. This will lead you through some rat-killing and outside to the Cliffroad Terminus Site of Grace. Once reach there, it means you are now standing in front of the town.
After arriving in Prospect Town, proceed to the center tower ruins. There is a tower and loot chest here, and here, there are a lot of Bloodfiends; that’s your initial way to obtain Bloodfiend’s Arm in Shadow of the Erdtree. Kill these, and you should get a great chance at the Bloodfiend’s Arm getting into your inventory.
If you are not fortunate enough to get one even after taking down all the creatures, you can try again. Go back to where we turned in our quest, rest by Cliffroad Terminus Site of Grace, and then warp back here fighting Bloodfiends again. Repeat this process until you get your weapon as a fight reward.
What Makes the Bloodfiend’s Arm So Good?
The Bloodfiend’s Arm is a Colossal Weapon, meaning it packs quite a strong power. However, what really sets it apart is its efficacy in rapidly creating Bleed stacks on foes. In conjunction with a Bleed Affinity and the appropriate Ash of War, you can net upwards of 200 Bleed buildup on your enemies. This makes the Bloodfiend’s Arm one of your best options for beating some particularly difficult bosses in the Elden Ring DLC. That extra Bleed damage can see their health melt away, which balances the scales against these tough beasts.
Smithing Stones can be used to further upgrade the Bloodfiend’s Arm, and there are some compatible Ashes of War that you can equip with it to boost its skills including Shriek of Sorrow, Savage Lion’s Claw, or Rolling Sparks. Give them a shot, and play around with the different Elden Ring builds that might suit your playstyle and work better.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree: Bloodfiend’s Arm Build
Ideally, to make the most of this strength-scaling weapon, you’ll want to level up in Arcane. This will further increase the Bleed buildup for this weapon, ideal for use against hard enemies.
A recommended stat spread for a Bloodfiend’s Arm build would be:
- Vigor: 60
- Mind: 20
- Endurance: 20
- Strength: 28
- Dexterity: 11
- Intelligence: 9
- Faith: 25
- Arcane: 60+
This gives you a lot of health and stamina to work with while maximizing your Arcane for the sweet Bleed damage. Also, do not forget to wield the Dragon Communion Seal in your off-hand. In battle, you can use powerful Elden Ring Incantations like the Golden Vow to lay claim to even better increases in both your attack and defense.
