Find the Three People Who Are Trapped is an objective you need to complete in the “The Funeral Parlor Has No Master, Yujing Terrace Calls the Troops” quest during the Lantern Rite 2025 event in Genshin Impact 5.3. This part of the quest takes you into the Border of Life and Death domain, where you need Xiao’s special ability to save three people and wrap things up. Here’s how to complete the objective by finding and attacking the Fetor Node including the trapped figures locations.
Find the Three People Who Are Trapped Walkthrough
First, head into the Border of Life and Death domain. Follow the path north, and glide to a platform hidden in the fog. There’s a locked door blocking your way, so activate Xiao’s ability. You’ll notice some weird blue-and-black smoke—this is called Fetor. Hit the Fetor Node (the cube thing glowing near the door), and it’ll dispel the smoke, unlocking the door for you.
Once you enter the first door, you’ll encounter enemies on the other side—take them down before progressing. After the fight, head deeper into the domain by unlocking another door and jumping down a hole. Follow the straightforward path until you reach an area with a big golden tree. This tree is your main focus because it’s surrounded by the three trapped individuals, represented by Rattan Figures you’ll need to catch.

Use Xiao’s Ability to Find the Rattan Figures
Around the tree, there are three Fetor Nodes (small broken pillars). Use Xiao’s ability to locate them one by one, destroy them, and release the Rattan Figures. These little creatures like to play hide-and-seek, so you’ll need to chase them down. Here’s where to find them:
The first rattan figure is behind the wall on the left at a little higher area. Select catch and follow it towards the lantern to catch it near the leaves and bushes.
The second figure appears behind a boulder and it flies around it for a couple of rounds and then stops at its top. You can’t directly jump at the top so use the lower side of the boulder to reach its higher end. Once you get to the rattan figure at the top, it will then fly towards the lantern and you can catch it by following.
Move straight passing through the second lantern and you will see the third pillar stuck in the wall right in front. This rattan figure flies in random directions for a while, it first stops and hides at a corner towards the right and then moves towards bushes and hides there. Once you run there, it will go towards the lantern and you can catch it.
After catching all three Rattan Figures, a cutscene will play revealing the true state of the border. You’ll see a hole where the golden tree once stood—jump down and continue forward. After reaching the room at the end, you’ll find Qiqi, Hu Tao, and Lan Yan.
But before you can relax, you’ll need to survive an enemy ambush for one minute until the timer ends. After that, you’ll be automatically teleported out of the domain. Head back to Yujing Terrace and report what happened to Ningguang to keep progress in the main quest.
