But, where do you start in a world so large? How do you navigate the complexities of elemental reactions, character building, and the all-important gacha system that teases the chance of adding powerful allies to your team? To make it much easier, we are with the Genshin Impact beginner’s guide including tips, tricks, and different strategies to get the maximum out of it.

Microtransactions in the Game are Superfluous

Even though Genshin Impact is a free-to-play game, its microtransactions aren’t invasive and aren’t required to complete the game. You can spend your money on ‘Fates,’ which control the weapon and character gacha systems, but you’ll only obtain somewhat better stuff, new characters, and some useful objects. None of them are essential to the game’s success.

Genshin Impact Tips for Beginners

Here is a list of the best Genshin Impact tips and tricks for new players who love some adventures:

Re-rolling the Traveler and Making a New Wish

Re-rolling the Traveler and Making a New Wish

While the game would never tell players this, there is a little troubling component to the protagonist that players choose at the start of the game. A male or female protagonist known as “the Traveler” is available to each Genshin Impact player, albeit the gender has no bearing on the initial character. The two possible elemental affinities Traveler can have, one of which is fundamentally worse than the other, have an impact on the starting character. If players begin the game with the Geo-based Traveler, it may be preferable to re-roll the protagonist for the Anemo-based Traveler, whose skills and stats are superior to their other characters.

When it comes to characters, the “Wish” function is unlocked after completing the introductory mission and arriving in Mondstadt. Wishing is a Gacha-based system in Genshin Impact that rewards players with new heroes as they progress through the game. The first-time “Beginners’ Wish” pull is often the safest option for individuals wishing for the first time. Beginners’ Wish promises a 4-star Noel with 8 Acquaint Fate goods (20% off), which is a significant benefit for new players. However, for the time being, future pulls should always be made from the “Wanderlust Invocation” desire, as it will almost always result in high-tier characters like Fischl, Jean, or Diluc.

Never Forget to Use to Artifacts

Combat is more than just a matter of focusing on weapons and character stats. Do you want to understand why you aren’t causing as much havoc as you would like? Artifacts provide a significant increase in ATK, which you can use by equipping them to your heavy hitters. Your damage figures will skyrocket if you continue in this direction.

Genshin Impact Tips Never Forget to Pay Attention to Artifacts

The basic types of Artifacts are given below:

  • Flower of Life
  • Plume of Death
  • Sands of Eon
  • Goblet of Eonothem
  • Circlet of Logos

Each artifact has a primary stat that is determined by its category and slot. The value of an artifact determines its stats and rarity. Each artifact can have four sub-stats that provide additional bonuses in addition to its main stat. For every four levels, an artifact obtained, and a sub-state will be added.

Artifacts, like characters, can be leveled up but only by sacrificing other artifacts. In this manner, you can take even the most useless objects and use them to improve another. Artifacts, on the other hand, have their own EXP materials that you can use to upgrade them for an additional cost in Mora. Concentrate on selecting artifacts based on a stat that is complementary to the character. You can even equip set artifacts that grant set bonuses according to how many of them you have on your person at any given time.

Combine the Elemental Characters

According to which one you select, your main character can have either wind (Anemo) or earth (Geo) powers (and you can swap between the two once you have access to the Liyue region). Characters with varied elemental powers appear as you move through the game. Amber can summon fire (Pyro), Kaeya can conjure frost (Cryo), and Lisa can summon lightning (Lisa) (Electro). There are a lot more characters to choose from, and it looks like having a diverse roster of characters with varied elemental powers is a good idea. By moving between them, you can have a deeper understanding of each one’s attacks.

Changing characters in the middle of combat might help you better master your attacks and elemental combinations. Combining elemental characters produces a variety of reactions, which can often swing unwinnable combat around in your favor. Merging wind with fire, water, cold, or lightning, for example, increases the dispersion of the assault and the damage it deals with, making it ideal for crowd control. Characters with similar elements can also provide benefits. Two wind characters, for example, increase stamina by 25%, while two fire elemental characters increase attack damage by 25%. So, even if they’re both underutilized, your exploring party can contain two wind characters.

Recipes Should be Learned

Learning to make different types of recipes is also a great thing for new players. In Genshin Impact, you can make food (and then consume it later), which helps raise your characters’ stats. To progress as a master chef in the game, you must collect all the necessary meal components to prepare some delectable meals. As your Adventure Rank rises, you’ll be able to unlock additional recipes, and you can also pick up a few from the folks you encounter on your excursions. For each recipe you’ve unlocked, you should try to reach the highest level of proficiency possible. You should be able to swiftly gain the ability to auto-prepare some of the meals if you master them.

Keep a note of the character who is cooking a specific dish so you can assign the proper one with a character bonus. Apart from the usual fare, make sure you master these three – Barbatos Ratatouille, Lotus Seed and Bird Egg Soup, and Zhongyuan Chop Suey. Because they aid exploration by lowering climbing and sprinting stamina consumption for a cool 15 minutes.

Arm Yourself with Your Weapons

Genshin Impact Guide Get Weapons

The weapon method is similar to Artifacts in that you can modify or refine your weapon. You can use duplicate weapons to refine the same weapon and boost its benefits if you have them. Refining a weapon enhances the additional stat or boost it delivers rather than increasing its base damage. Enhancement Ores, which are manufactured from metal resources, can be used to augment the base damage of your weapon.

Search, then Search Some More

Genshin Impact is a long game, and exploring every inch of its vast universe will take some time. You get to fight many creatures, discover treasure chests, and uncover secrets while exploring the map. Make a point of collecting everything that comes your way, including flowers, food, ores, chests, and so on. To pick up specific flowers, you’ll need to employ elemental magic on them. Make sure you get those because they’ll be useful in future quests. It’s typically a good idea to grab a chest or any other collectible before moving on.

To unlock additional features and gain rewards, you must boost your Adventure Rank. This can be accomplished by gaining Adventure EXP, which increases your rank as you complete objectives. So, in addition to exploring, make sure you complete the Archon, Story, Commission, and World quests that have been assigned to you.

Make advantage of the map, as it’s a valuable resource. You can place custom markers on the map to indicate where you can find specific things and items, or if you’ve forgotten to collect a chest. Dropping markers might be beneficial because they can help you find stuff later on when you need them. It can also aid when playing co-op with your pals since it will be easier for them to go to a marker and acquire the goods they require.

Keep a Keen Eye on Your Stamina

Keep a keen eye on your stamina

Aside from battle, each character’s stamina is used for various activities such as sprinting, evading, climbing, swimming, gliding, and so on. When the stamina meter is empty or getting recharge, it appears as a yellow bar UI element to the right of your character, and it immediately conceals when not in use. The more stamina you have, the longer you can accomplish all of these things before the stamina meter runs out. Take the time to improve it because it is a valuable resource. This can be accomplished by gathering Oculus (Anemoculus and Geoculus) and then worshipping the Statue of the Seven, where these are expended. The Oculus is a type of item that can be found all over the place.

Always Keep a Backup of Your EXP Materials

In Genshin Impact, resources play a significant role. Unless you’re ready to burn some cash, you’ll only have so much at a time. Even if you’re tempted to make every character you have as powerful as possible, you’re better off focusing on a few characters you’re familiar with and investing in them.

While you can level up characters by beating foes, it isn’t recommended. Because the experience points you gain are insignificant when compared to the experience points gained by using materials. The quickest way to max out a character is to use Character EXP resources. Depending on their rarity, these EXP items provide varying amounts of experience.

  • Wanderer’s Advice – 1000 experience (cost 200 Mora)
  • Adventurer’s Experience – 5000 experience (cost 1000 Mora)
  • Hero’s Wit – 20000 experience (cost 4000 Mora)

You won’t be employing all of the characters on your roster, so don’t squander your EXP materials. These experience items will become rare as you progress through the stages.

Use up All of Your Sigils

It’s easy to forget about Sigils. They’re a form of regional cash that can be won from chests or found while traveling, and if you’re like me, you’re probably stockpiling them for some reason; put an end to it. For the Traveler, the sigil store (located in Mondstadt and Liyue) has a limited supply of ascension materials, mora, weapon blueprints, and constellations. Don’t do what I did and hoard your sigils for no reason.

There is no sigil store in Inazuma, but it does have the Sacred Sakura. If you offer your sigils there, your electrogram will be upgraded, allowing you to pass higher-level barriers and explore more of the islands. This, like the Frost Bearing Tree in Dragonspine, is one of the few sites where you can get a Crown of Insight. An extremely rare resource required to max out your combat talents.

Resin Should be Used

Resin, like energy in other games, is a mechanic in Genshin Impact. It recharges in a few hours and can be utilized for a variety of tasks. When looking at the map, the current Resin quantity may be viewed in the upper right. When using resin for Ley Lines or Domains, it is advisable to utilize it wherever possible to enhance efficiency. It’s critical for the player to ensure that their resin is never depleted and that it is always refilling.
