Building and upgrading your base in AKSA is important to your survival and progress through the game. One such key structure you’ll need to unlock is the Carpenter. It is a building that allows you to create wood planks, a valuable resource for many advanced constructions. Our guide will walk you through everything you need to know to unlock and build the Carpenter in ASKA.
How to Unlock and Build the ASKA Carpenter
The Carpenter is an add-on structure that requires some setup and progression before you can unlock it. First, you have to construct the Workshop Pit, which is found under the Advanced Production section of the Build menu (press B to open the menu).
When building the Workshop Pit, both sides of the structure must be green. If either of them shows up as red, the terrain isn’t suitable to continue the build process, and it isn’t going to upgrade later on—which could leave you stuck and frustrated down the line. Furthermore, leave some extra space around the Pit for upgrades and add-ons.
After building the Workshop Pit, upgrade it into a Workshop Hut. This upgrade is crucial because the Hut lets you build additional structures like the Carpenter. Here’s how to do it:
- Highlight the Workshop Pit and press T to open the Workshop Hut Menu.
- Look for the Upgrade menu and choose the option to upgrade it to a Workshop Hut.
- Make sure you have the necessary resources for the upgrade—this will depend on your progress in the game.
Before you can unlock the Carpenter, you must construct the Metalworker first. Once the build is complete, here’s what is required for the Carpenter recipe:
- 12 Stick
- 4 Hardwood Log
- 4 Hardwood Stick
- 6 Rope
- 12 Bark
- 6 Large Stone
- 12 Small Stone
Go back to the Workshop Hut Menu with all these required materials and select the Carpenter add-on to finalize the build. After that, don’t forget to assign a villager to work there and hand them over the necessary tools to do their work such as Crude Iron Axe and Draw Knife, so they can produce materials such as wood planks.
If the tools get damaged, task the villager to make new ones or enable the “Only use refurbished metal” option to enable them to always be equipped. Once it’s up and running, you’re ready to accept even bigger construction projects with your new Carpenter.
