Salmon is a normal and useful fish you can catch in Disney Dreamlight Valley—not only is it a key cooking ingredient in many recipes, but it’s also handy for energy restoration and earning coins. Read this guide to know everything you need to know about salmon including where to find them, their price, and what recipes you can make with them.
Where to Catch Salmon in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Like a few other fishes in the game, Salmon usually appears a lot and is not that hard to catch. You can find Salmon in several biomes around Dreamlight Valley. These locations are:
- Sunlit Plateau
- Frosted Heights
- The Grasslands
- The Promenade
- The Wild Tangle (in some DLC content like A Rift in Time)
When fishing for salmon, keep an eye out for white ripple spots in ponds, rivers, or open water. Cast your line into these areas to increase your chances of catching the fish. Blue and orange ripples will often yield special kinds such as Tilapia or Sturgeon, so focus on the white ones. If you don’t immediately get a Salmon, don’t worry—it’s normal to pull up other fish. Just keep trying.
If you’ve unlocked and upgraded Moana’s fishing boat through her friendship questline, you have another great way to obtain Salmon. Moana’s upgraded boat occasionally provides this fish among other types. This is a good option if you’d rather not spend too much time fishing by yourself.
What to Do With Salmon in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Salmon is an important ingredient in some tasty recipes you will love to cook for your favorite characters like I do normally. Here are the main ones:
- Sake Sushi (Salmon + Rice): Restores +1,000 energy and sells for 274 coins.
- Sake Maki (Salmon + Rice + Seaweed): Restores +1,101 energy and sells for 323 coins.
- Apple Cider Glazed Salmon (Salmon + Sugarcane + Apple): Restores +1,572 energy and sells for 271 coins.
- Teriyaki Salmon (Salmon + Rice + Soya + Sugarcane + Ginger): A 5-star dish that restores a total +1,726 energy and sells for 557 coins.
Salmon can also be used in any recipe that calls for a fish such as Fish Soup, Fish Tacos, or Fish Pie.
Other than that, you can also sell salmon to Goofy at one of his stalls for 150 Star Coins each. To restore energy while mining, fishing, or gathering, eating raw salmon restores 500 energy. However, it is more beneficial to cook it into a meal, as cooked dishes offer far more energy. Although creatures don’t particularly enjoy fish as gifts, foxes in Frosted Heights do. Gift salmon to a fox, and they reward you with a Dream Shard or Iron Ingot.
