The Population Census quest in Escape from Tarkov is a task given by Elvira Khabibullina Therapist. To complete this quest, you need to obtain a journal containing missing resident details on the Streets of Tarkov map and then escape the place safely to return and hand the journal over to the Therapist.
Quest in-game description:
Good afternoon, mercenary. You’re just in time, I have an errand for you. I need to determine how many people have gone missing in the city. To do this, I need a list of all the residents of the city and subtract the already evacuated, the dead, and those who found shelter in the hospital. Your task is to find that list of residents. Bring me the journal from Primorsky District’s Housing Department.
Escape from Tarkov Population Census Walkthrough
It’s quite a large task given to you to find the Housing office journal that tells all the details of missing people in the city. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to complete this quest easily.
Note: You cannot complete this challenge unless you have reached level 12 and has completed the Pharmacist quest in Tarkov.
Head to the Streets of Tarkov Map
Spawn in at the Spider grocery store or somewhere close and head towards the Scav checkpoint extract. Look for the children’s playground area and the building just to the left of it.
Enter the Building
You can only enter through the back door of this housing department building because the front doors are locked.
Find the Journal
Once enter the building, you need to look for five different possible locations where the journal spawns. You need to look for a black book that seems like a journal as shown in the image below.
- In the second office towards the right of the entrance on a bookshelf.
- Under a desk lamp on a desk in the third office.
- On a bar-like structure between two desks in the reception just right to the stairs, on the shelf close to a plant.
- In the last office on the left side, next to a computer monitor on the table.
- Between two orange books on the floor, under a knocked-over bookshelf upstairs.
Extract Safely
Once you have received the journal, you need to extract the building quickly to escape from the Raid.
Hand Over the Journal
Back in your hideout, go to the Therapist and hand over the journal to complete the Population Census quest in EFT. Rewards for finishing the objective include:
- 6,900 XP
- 0.02 Therapist rep
- 35,000, 40,250 Roubles (depending on the Intelligence Center level 1 & 2 respectively)
- 2 Salewa first aid kits
- 2 Medical tools
