How to Fast Travel in Once Human

Teleporting isn’t limitless, here’s everything you need to know to save time without getting stuck with cooldowns.

Once Human’s post-apocalyptic futuristic world is massive, and while trekking through dark forests or random player base encounters can be fun, you will want to skip the long road most of the time. Thankfully, the Once Human fast travel system (named Teleport in-game) is there that unlocks early and gives you a few possible ways to move around quickly whether you’re heading back to base, connecting with friends, or moving across zones.

How to Unlock Fast Travel in Once Human

Fast travel in Once Human isn’t available from the start, but you’ll first need to complete part of the Eve of Evolution mission to activate the Teleportation Tower, which is the game’s tutorial. Once you fight the Siren boss and set up your first base after it, the Teleportation option becomes available. From here on, you can move between key locations using fast travel without hiking across dangerous territory every time.

Once Human Teleportation Tower Map Location for Fast Travel

Teleportation Towers can be found all over the map locations. These towers are the primary anchors for fast travel let you move between different points of interest (POI) or return to your base. Go to the Teleportation Tower and hold F to activate it. Once done, this Tower will be set as a future fast travel point whenever you want to teleport. To change between different Worlds, interact with the Tower with G. They’re usually found in settlements, dungeons, or other hotspots with bright blue light coming out of them.

I’d recommend always activating Towers whenever you see them, even if you don’t plan on using them right away. One good thing is that you can Teleport back to your base from anywhere without a Tower. That said, teleporting in the game has a 10-minute cooldown. It’s a little restrictive, so plan your base trips wisely; don’t burn your cooldown if you just want to head home to craft one item.

Fast travel isn’t completely free or unlimited. It works at your energy cost, long-distance teleports eat up more of your character’s energy, so use it wisely. Except for base Teleports, you’ll always need an active Tower nearby to use fast travel, so place your base close to it to save yourself trouble with cooldowns. Last but not least, keep an eye on your energy levels before long jumps; running out at the wrong time can leave you stranded.
