How to Get a Mirror of Kalandra in Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2)

When will it appear?

The Mirror of Kalandra is one of the rarest and most valuable items in Path of Exile 2. This currency is a status symbol that reflects both extreme luck and wealth in the game’s economy. Our PoE 2 guide tells how to get Mirror of Kalandra and whether to use it.

What is the Mirror of Kalandra?

The Mirror of Kalandra allows you to create an exact duplicate of an equipable non-unique item in Path of Exile 2. Here’s what you need to know:

  • What it does: Duplicates the stats, sockets, and modifiers of a rare, magic, or normal item.
  • Restrictions:
    • Cannot mirror corrupted items.
    • Cannot mirror unique items (like legendary gear).
    • Cannot mirror another mirrored item.

The mirrored copy has a “Mirrored” tag and cannot be customized further, so make sure the original item is valuable before using the Mirror. The drop rate of the Mirror of Kalandra is ridiculously low, estimated to be around 0.0001% or even less.

It can drop from almost anywhere on the game’s map including:

  • Monsters
  • Chests
  • Loot containers
  • Endgame content like Delirium maps or encounters with Harbingers

That said, even players who grind for many hours might never see one; it’s all about luck and your chance.

Mirror of Kalandra can drop randomly from virtually any loot source in the game. This includes monsters, chests, destructible objects like barrels, and high-tier endgame content. While there’s always a small chance of encountering a Mirror even in the early acts of the campaign, the odds increase slightly when farming high-level monster maps. Usually, maps in the endgame with strong modifiers, such as Delirium or Breach mechanics have more loot which means more chances to find rare items.

A good strategy which I also prefer is to target Harbinger encounters, they can drop Mirror Shards. These shards are fragments of a full Mirror, and collecting 20 shards will automatically assemble one. Harbingers can be encountered throughout the world, but most of them happen in specific Atlas Passive Tree nodes like in Valdo’s Rest region. Harbingers are lucrative in “juiced” maps with extra modifiers that increase monster density and loot.

If farming doesn’t give the required output, trading is an alternative it’s the common choice among the players as most of them don’t even get in the game after spending so many years and seasons. Thanks to its rarity and value, the Mirror of Kalandra is known as the top tier of currency in the game’s economy. You can obtain other high-value currency items, such as Chaos Orbs, Divine Orbs, or Exalted Orbs, and trade them for a Mirror through official trade sites or community platforms like The Forbidden Trove.

Finally, you could go after Divination Cards like House of Mirrors as it is also a source to get Mirror as a reward after completing the set. However, these cards are exceptionally rare, and completing the set is an achievement in itself.

Should You Use the Mirror of Kalandra?

For most people selling the Mirror is the smart choice. Its value can fund many high-tier upgrades and improve your build instead of duplicating a single item.

For a solid endgame build and to duplicate a mirror tier item—gear with great modifiers, rolls, and sockets—using the Mirror to duplicate a mirror tier item is worth it. Instead you can use the Mirror for mirror services to copy other players’ crafted mirror tier items for a fee. What more do you need when you can get top-tier gear without having to craft it yourself?

In short, you can use the Mirror of Kalandra in Path of Exile 2 to duplicate an item if it’s important for your build otherwise, trade it for a good chunk of currency and upgrades.
