World of Warcraft has confirmed the return of the Plunderstorm event coming on January 14, 2025. If you loved the first round of WoW mode, you’ll have more to play with this time around in the second run.

In the recent Warcraft Direct, Blizzard announced a lot of new content for the game including Patch 11.0.7, Siren Isle, Patch 11.1, Undermined. But for many players, the big news was the announcement of Plunderstorm.

Blizzard also shared a breakdown of features coming in Patch 11.0.7 on Twitter, confirming the date for Plunderstorm. It will be live for a few weeks and end around February 18, 2025, according to the in-game calendar.

For the second run, Blizzard has made many changes to World of Warcraft‘s Plunderstorm. Instead of earning Renown with Keg Leg’s Crew, you will now unlock the rewards by collecting Plunder in any order you like. Furthermore, there will be a new practice lobby in the event to get comfortable with the mechanics before you directly join the match without any knowledge. The starting drop system has also undergone some tweaks, and a few new abilities to discover during playthrough.

Before the Plunderstorm event takes place the new Patch 11.0.7 drops on December 17, 2024, with the new Siren Isle zone packed with world activities, an upgradable ring, and a new story chapter connecting The War Within and Patch 11.1.

Here’s what Patch 11.0.7 offers further:

  • Alt-Friendly Features: New catch-up gear and Renown boosts to easily level up alternate characters.
  • Racial Ability Buffs: Many races will see upgrades to their unique abilities.
  • Outlaw Rogue Glyphs: New Pistol Shot glyphs add flair to this famous class.
  • Winter Veil Updates: The holiday event gets even better with new content and rewards.

With so much on the horizon, World of Warcraft is keeping its community engaged through the holidays and into the new year.
