You Can Use Rebecca’s Shotgun in Cyberpunk 2077 to Avoid Fall Damage

By Ali Usama

Some players have noticed that Rebecca’s new shotgun in the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners update can save you from getting hurt when you fall from a height. Since it dropped back in December 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has had its fair share of issues, but fans have enjoyed the wild ride with all the new DLC content that’s been rolled out. CD Projekt has been busy fixing things up with regular patches and improvements over the years.

No doubt, Cyberpunk 2077 is way better now than it was at launch. That said, the devs had to change up their DLC plans to focus more on squashing bugs. But they’ve been teasing us with a few sneak peek of the highly anticipated Phantom Liberty DLC. The latest patch brought some cool upgrades and even included fresh content from the Edgerunners animated series on Netflix.

In the Edgerunners update for Cyberpunk 2077, they’ve added many new weapons and items, including David Martinez’s jacket, all inspired by the anime. If you’re roaming around Corpo Plaza in Night City, look out for a shotgun named Guts—it’s Rebecca’s signature weapon. Instead of only dealing regular damage, this Legendary gun inflicts chemical damage and shoots out three ricocheting bullets. But that’s not all; fans have discovered a clever trick with this shotgun.

One Reddit user in the Cyberpunk 2077 community posted a clip showing how you can save yourself from fall damage using Guts. In the video, the player jumps off a very high spot—probably from the balcony of the Dark Matter club. As they’re about to hit the ground, they aim Rebecca’s shotgun straight down and fire just in time, and guess what? They don’t take any damage at all.

People are pretty excited about the footage, but there are some questions about how it works. One user commented that the player gets pushed back because Guts acts like a Carnage shotgun, which has some heavy kick. It looks like you can slow your fall by shooting downward. Someone mentioned it was a bug back in version 1.00, where sliding when you hit the ground kept you from taking fall damage, but that got fixed after it was found on Reddit. Another user thought it is a nice nod to Rebecca.

CD Projekt Red isn’t sure if they’ll bother fixing this issue since it’s pretty minor. If you’re looking to get Rebecca’s shotgun Guts, it’s available under some bushes near three priests and a holographic koi fish in Corpo Plaza.
